Carrier check FAQ

What public records does Daymark use?

Daymark uses public FMCSA census, authority, authority history, insurance filing and BOC-3 process-agent records through U.S. Department of Transportation datasets. SMS publishes monthly, but Daymark v1 does not include SMS safety measures, safety ratings or out-of-service records. Daymark is independent of FMCSA.

How current is a carrier check?

Each fact includes a source link, fetched-at time and source-updated-at time. Source-updated-at means the dataset publication time, not necessarily the date the carrier changed. Census publishes daily with lag. Profiles may be cached for 24 hours and relationship results for one hour. Daymark does not promise real-time information.

What does a shared phone, address or officer mean?

It is a candidate relationship to review, not proof of common ownership, control or misconduct. Phones can be reassigned, addresses can be shared offices, and the same officer name can refer to different people. A shared BOC-3 agent is a shared service provider. Matching is limited to direct matches and suppresses identifiers used by many carriers; no matches does not prove no relationships.

Does Daymark give a fraud score or tell me whether to book a carrier?

No. Daymark v1 provides no risk scores, fraud verdicts, carrier rankings or booking recommendations. It shows a partial set of public-record facts and matching identifiers with evidence. You decide what they mean and confirm material decisions with the source records and the carrier.

What do Free, Launch pricing and the trial include?

Free: $0, 10 lookups per month and a five-carrier watchlist evaluation for 14 days. Launch pricing: $19 per month for your first 12 months, then the standard $49 per month. The paid trial lasts 14 days and needs no card. Trial dates do not reset. There is no automatic charge when the trial ends; choosing checkout starts billing, even during a trial. Checkout is currently test-mode only.

Can I use the REST API or MCP server?

Yes. Daymark offers a REST API and an MCP server that calls that API. API access uses an account key; the public docs include a synthetic sandbox. Free evaluation allows 50 bounded live calls per month; trial and paid accounts allow 2,000 calls per month and up to 200 watched carriers, subject to published capacity limits. Usage resets each UTC calendar month. Install instructions are at /mcp and API documentation is at /docs.

What does the watchlist check each night?

The nightly job matches published registration, authority, insurance and process-agent feed rows to carriers in the working set. Your watchlist shows matching raw rows for your selected carriers, retained for seven days. These are records to review, not verified change alerts. Blank fields never establish removals. Publication gaps can occur; email alerts are not included in v1. Free monitoring ends after its 14-day evaluation; keeping entries does not preserve monitoring access.

Why might a carrier or relationship be missing?

A USDOT number may be absent from the published census data, or a source may be delayed or unavailable. Matching is bounded and exact after limited normalization; spelling, phone formats, blank fields and incomplete BOC-3 coverage can hide matches. An absent census result may be cached for one hour. Try the USDOT number again later and check the underlying federal record. Missing data is not a verdict about the carrier.

How do I dispute a fact or request a correction?

Sign in at /corrections and send the USDOT number, fact path, value shown, proposed correction, explanation and evidence URL. Reports await human review and never automatically change source facts. Daymark cannot edit federal records; source errors also need correction with the publishing agency. For help, contact hello@getdaymark.io; the mailbox is being set up for launch.

How do I cancel?

Sign in at /account, open Cancel subscription and continue to the billing portal to confirm cancellation. The reason field is optional. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; confirm the date in the portal. A no-card trial ends without a charge unless you choose checkout. Billing is currently test-mode only.
